William Durrell Obituary
Dr. William Sandford Durrell (Sandy) was born Oct 14 1931 in Miami FL and died Mar 19 2017 in Greenville SC. He is survived by wife, Jane, children, Kathy Lockhart, Debbie Swain, Bill Durrell, Trish Hamel, Caroline Fritz, 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents, William E. and Abbie N. Sandy earned his PhD in Organic Chemistry (Univ of Fla), was active in Pi Kappa Phi, and Captain in the USAF. He became a R&D executive, and was honored as ACS Fellow for contributions to science. Sandy was an author, innovator, loved music, family and friends. After retirement, the couple settled in Greenville SC. A military service followed by interment will be at Spring Grove Cemetery on June 24, 12pm.
