Our family got to know Dr. Polzin as he fought alongside us for our grandson Jude Samuels life. Jude lived for one day - what an incredible gift! Quite late on the night Jude was born, Bill came to the NICU to see precious Jude and to encourage our son and daughter-in-law. He came not as a doctor, but as a friend and father who understood that every parent needs to be able to show off the wonder of their child, even if only for a day. I have no words to express what his steadfast faith and grace meant to us, but want you to know that our whole family is praying for yours.

Bill was a dear friend and mentor to me during the development of NAFTNet. He was always the Voice of Reason during the "energetic discussions" in the development phase of this innovative research Network. He was a great resource during these challenging early years when we were trying to define ourselves, establish our agenda and role in the world of fetal diagnosis and therapy. As one of the "Founders" he was always the one that during heated discussions/debates reminded and refocussed us to our mission and how we might financially support it in his Treasurer position. His incredible intellectual expertise, passion for maternal care and advocate for evidence based fetal therapy/interventions and love for education at all levels sets a high bar for all of us who had the privilege to have worked with him. He was truly an intellectual, innovative and maternal care advocate/champion leader in Maternal Fetal Medicine and a leading Founder of the North American Fetal Therapy Network and a good friend to all of us. He will be truly missed and remain a role model for future generations to follow! My heart felt condolences go out to Bill's family as I cannot imagine what the loss of such an amazing individual and loving family member impacts all of you! But, I can attest that as long as I knew Bill, he was always the prototype loving family Dad that I ever knew, always proud of all of his wife and children's achievements. He was the "guy's Guy" prototype of what all of the rest of us should strive for.
I will miss him and share in your loss.

Though I only knew Dr. Polzin for a brief period of time, he left a lasting impression on my life with his ethic, professionalism and brilliance. He was direct and caring, an incredible guide and leader, a healer and teacher. What a tremendous loss to his family, freinds, community, colleagues, students and patients. His legacy and teachings shall live on and his impact on the lives of families and offspring shall be felt for generations to come. My heartfelt condolences to his beloved family. Bill, your kindness, elegance, and smile was always present since I met you many years ago in Cincinnati. You was such a special supportive friend for me and my family. Besides me, Carla, David, and Lucas, all we love you as a person and friend. I had the honor and privilege to work daily with you in the progression and flourish of the Cincinnati Fetal Center during the last 7 years. Hard work and many great moments seeing moms and babies' happiness after been successfully treated. Also, lots of efforts to teach and share our expertise traveling worldwide. I saw in the funeral how much people loved you and what a wonderful family you created with your wife, a lot of well behaved grandchildren, and all together giving love and support to each other. Although you left us very soon, you had already done a great job. Proud of you. Bill, you will be in our hearts and memories FOREVER.

I had the good fortune of knowing and working with Bill closely for eight years in building the Cincinnati Fetal Care Center. Bill was a wonderful colleague and a great clinician, but more importantly Bill was a wonderful person devoted to his family and his faith. The Cincinnati Fetal Carr Center would not be what it is today were it not for Bill. He touched countless lives and saved so many babies through his work at the Fetal Center.

Dr. Polzin was an amazing teacher to the resident physicians, a constant professional and someone to emulate. He walked into a room, and his presence commanded respect. Every opportunity to learn from him, felt like an honor to be in the presence of such a great doctor. He was knowledgeable, kind, gentle, honest and someone who truly cared about patients and teaching the next generation of OBGYNs. I will always remember the lessons I've learned from him and have employed in my daily practice. He had the best bedside manner. He would tell me, "we're tall, so we need to sit down, look the patient in the eye, let them know they are in control of their care, we're here to guide them". Until this very day, every time I see a patient, I sit with them, and meet them where they are. And I think of Dr. Polzin in those moments.
My deepest and sincerest condolences to his family and all of us who grieve his loss.

Bill was a wonderful example what a physician should be. He cared deeply about his patients. He worked tirelessly for those in need. He was a teacher to those of us he worked with. Intelligent, kind, soft-spoken, and hard-working are just a few words to describe him. I'm sure he was all of those things and more with his family also. He will truly be missed.

Bill was such a good friend to his fellow classmates in the Fox Valley Lutheran High School Class of 1975, and we all somehow knew that he was destined to achieve many accomplishments in his life. We enjoyed countless great times together while in high school, college, and beyond. Bill's career in medicine seemed to exemplify his commitment and caring for other people in need. Our lives were made better by having known Bill, and he indeed had, "A Life Well Lived." Goodspeed Bill Polzin ...

Dr. Polzin provided so much more than just care for our son, he gave us hope when others refused. I always joked with him during appointments about how soothing his voice was because it was full of kindness, love, and faith. He talked proudly of his family and work, but also his Savior. Im sure he was greeted by all the little ones he fought for, but couldnt save, including our son Logan. So much love to his family and friends. We are so honored to have met him.

Blessings and Peace for his family. I will always remember him as an amazing Christian man. Always made me want to be better and love more! He was so kind and caring. I count it as such a privilege to have known him and worked by his side as a medical assistant. I was always amazed how quick he saw patients but yet how they came out of the room feeling so loved and special! Wonderful Christian man.

My cousin who helped save children is now free from pain and rejoicing with the Heavenly choir of angels❤
His Mom (my aunt) kept me informed over the years of Bills success, but to share your faith with patients or whomever you get to know, occurred without my knowledge. What a ministry he had on this earth.
Bless you Su, children, grandchildren and my 8 cousins who remain on this earth.
May Bills light shine through his children and wife until he sees all of you again.
Im sure he reassured and instilled his faith in all of you while he was facing his death.❤
May God grant all of you peace and comfort

Dear Su and family,
We and countless others are grieving at the loss of your dear Bill. We have so many memories of him during our KOK years, not the least of which was bringing our Andy safely into the world. After Andy was born he pulled up a chair and asked if he could pray thats just like Bill. We admired his wit, his wisdom, his love for you and his family, and, most of all, his gentle yet profound witness of his faith in Jesus. Our prayers continue for you all during these difficult days ahead. Much love to you.

Dearest Polzin's - We are sending you thoughts and prayers of comfort during this time of sorrow. Our hearts are heavy and saddened this side of heaven. It doesn't make this time any easier but knowing that Bill's faith and the blessed assurance that our Redeemer lives is what will sustain us in missing him. He lived a life for his Savior and it touched the smallest of souls. I leave you with this passage as one of my fondest memories with Bill was training for the Chicago marathon. Philipians 3:14 So I run straight toward the goal in order to win the prize, which is God's call through Christ Jesus to the life above. Our love to you all, The Kinstler Family

Im so thankful for Dr Polzin and will forever be grateful for his part in saving my twins from Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrom. He gave me peace and hope when all medical reasoning showed that there was none. With Gods help along with the entire team at the Cincinnati Fetal Care Center my twins are here today and will be 8 years old later this year. My prayers are with his family. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful picture of the man he was outside the hospital. His memory will live on through the lives of so many that he helped save and I have no doubt his testimony will bring others to the Lord.

To the Polzin family and to all who loved him:
Your husband, father, grandfather, friend saved my babies lives. I met Dr. Polzin on Feb. 1 15 years ago, just a few days after I was diagnosed with Twin-Twin Transfusion Syndrome. Our circumstances were dire and the prognosis was not good. Over the next 12 weeks, we would drive from Muncie, Ind. to Cinci every week to see Dr. P, and under his care, we underwent many procedures to save the boys. Dr. P always offered words of encouragement. He held my hand while I cried. And as a result of his expert care, I was given the gift of motherhood, and my boys were given the gift of happy, healthy lives. Your husband, father, grandfather, friend has been my hero for 15 years. And although we havent seen each other for a long time, I think of him often and thank God for putting him in my life every single day.
I lost my father in November. So, I know all too well the heartache you are suffering. I, too, am heartbroken that Dr. P had to leave this world too soon.
But please know, that are an uncountable number of families who have him to thank for life, love, happiness, joy, and the greatest gift - parenthood - that anyone could ever receive.
I will always love Dr. P with all my heart. And my family and I are sending you all light and love for peace and healing.

Dr. Polzin will always be remembered as a brilliant physician who cared passionately for women and there struggles during pregnancy. The Cincinnati area was so very fortunate that he wanted to raise his adored family here. Many have had the opportunity to be educated by his wisdom and become better doctors and nurses at both GSH and Childrens because of him. Just wish to thank his family for sharing him with us and know he is free and with his maker . With deepest sympathy, Debbie RN.

I had the honor of being Bills partner at Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii, before he and his family moved to Cincinnati. Working with him was a wonderful experience that I will never forget and always cherish. He was bright, dedicated, compassionate and had a great sense of humor. I learned much from him, both professionally and personally. He leaves behind thousands of women and babies who benefitted from his lovingly delivered and compassionate care. Rest In Peace, my friend.
