Kay O'Conner

Circleville Kay Francis (McKenzie) O'Conner, 87, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2025, with her loving daughter by her side. Born June 28, 1938, in Chillicothe, she was the cherished daughter of Chester and Juanita McKenzie. Kay graduated in 1956 from Waverly High School and became a registered nurse upon graduation from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in 1959. She worked as a nurse in Circleville for Dr. Myers, and on the maternity floor at Berger Hospital, before continuing her career at the Veterans Hospital in Chillicothe, from which she retired. In 1963, she married her best friend, Ronald O'Conner. Kay was a loving and devoted mother to Erin, a proud grandmother to Kathryn (Jordan) and Abigail (Andrew), and a n adoring great grandmother to Elias, Connor, Truett, and Elizabeth. Kay was known for her Christian faith and caring personality, which was witnessed by her lifelong friends and family. Kay is survived by her daughter Erin (Ethan), grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her sister, Debra. She was preceded in death by her parents. A private celebration of Kay's life will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville followed by a burial at Forest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the charity of your choice in her memory. Her warmth, love, and orneriness will be missed forever.
