Lesley Allen Obituary
He was born June 23, 1941, in Jackson County, to the late Homer and Florence Poe Gilliland. On November 11, 1962, he married the former Carol Dewey, who survives.
Also surviving are children, Russell Allen and Debbie (Dean) O'Brien, both of Chillicothe; and Stephanie (Stacey) Eitel, of Circleville; grandchildren, Kaila O'Brien and Taylor Eitel.
After giving his heart and life to the Lord in 1965, his music ministry started and continued for 53 years. He went wherever he was needed always taking his two guitars with him. Later he felt called to preach. He loved helping people any way he could and never met a stranger. He had friends everywhere. His radio ministry was always so important to him.
The family would like to thank all the medical providers, nurses, and staff at Adena Hospital on 3B and also Hospice team there that helped him with everything. A special thanks to Dr. Courtney Little and the team from Adena Internal Medicine and to Dr. Jeyanthi Ramanarayanan and the team at Adena Cancer Center for all the wonderful care and concern.
Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, February 10, 2018, at the First United Methodist Church, with Pastor Doug Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.

Lesley Allen was a wonderful man and shared his love for Jesus. I remember him singing and preaching when I was a child at Shady Glen and listening to his radio show. He was a blessing to many through his years on earth. Hold the loving memories in our hearts forever.

It was my privilege and pleasure to have sung with Lesley a number of times at the senior center. It was such an easy task to sing a solo with him on the guitar, or to do a duet together. I'm sure he is quite an addition to Heaven's choir. His memory will live forever in the hearts of anyone who knew him. May God comfort the hearts of his family and friends during this time of loss. But remember, there is rejoicing is Heaven.

I can believe that the Lord was happy to bring Lesley home he finished the race. I remember singing in the choir with Lesley and enjoying every bit of it. He really loved the Lord........
