Carl Putman

Flager Beach, FL - Carl Arthur Putman, age 86, of Flagler Beach, FL went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 30, 2011 at Baptist Medical Center South in Jacksonville, FL.

Born on June 14, 1925 in Yukon, WV, he was the son of the late Arthur and Sue Ryan Putman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife; Geneva Duncan Putman who passed away in 1992. He was also preceded in death by one son; Tommy D. Putman; one sister, Ruby Frye; and one brother; Bill Putman.

Mr. Carl Putman enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in the infantry in Europe during WWII. Mr. Putman was a lifelong member of the Bear Creek Baptist Church and was a 32nd degree mason and a member of Vesper Lodge #554 A.F. & A.M. He loved watching football and baseball. He and his wife were also tournament Bridge players before her passing in 1992. The funeral service for Mr. Carl Putman will be conducted on Friday, November 4, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the Bear Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Brandon Pitman officiating. Military graveside services and interment will follow in the Bear Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. A Masonic service will be conducted in the church by Vesper Lodge #554 A.F. & A.M. The family will receive friends from 1 pm until the service hour at the church. Left to cherish his memories are his daughter, Angela Smith and husband, Joe of Flagler Beach, FL; his son, Carl Duncan Putman of Atlanta, GA; two grandson; Anthony Smith and wife, Sara of Metairie, LA and Robert Lee Smith of Daytona Beach, FL.
