Elizabeth Vidrine Obituary

Elizabeth Evangeline Dennis Vidrine

Asheville - Age 45 passed away peacefully on Tuesday November 6th at the Saint Joseph campus of Mission Hospital.

Elizabeth was born in Salisbury, NC and came to live in Asheville which was the city she loved.

She is survived by her father Edward Dennis of Asheville and her mother was Rachel Corell Boger (deceased) Her sisters are Rachel Virginia (Ginny) Dennis Herion, Susan Dennis Moore, and Katherine Boger of Rowan county NC. Nephews were Zach and Grant Herion, niece Eliza McIntyre, and special cousin Sarah Bond.

She is also survived by a very special godchild Caroline Lawrence

Much gratitude and appreciation go to her close friends Michelle Ruedin, Julie Jacobs, and Meredith Lawrence, who were her primary support throughout her lengthy illness and passing.

Elizabeth graduated from the North Carolina School of Science and Math in 1991 and later from UNC-Greensboro with a Bachelor's degree in English and and Master's degree in Library Science. Her written work on libraries and computers was internationally published in a Journal of Library Science. Before retiring due to illness she worked as a Librarian at both High Point University and Randolph Community College.

Elizabeth wished to be remembered as "The kind, beloved Librarian that everyone remembers" and she was successful in that goal. She was well known for her compassion, helping the homeless, those with special needs, animal welfare, and equality for all people.

As per her wishes no services are planned, in lieu of flowers Elizabeth asked that contributions be made to Brother Wolf Animal Rescue or the no kill animal rescue of choice.

My dear friend,
A year has come and gone and more than once I've wanted to tell you something humorous only you'd laugh at or our most exiting news of our pregnancy. You were always such a ray of sunshine and happiness to me and my family and I miss you more than I can say. Your family and friends remain in our prayers. I love you, Elizabeth. The world is much colder without you here.

My sincere sympathies to the family may your memories bring you much joy and your prayers to God will bring you much comfort and strength. Romans 12:12

I was still hoping it was all a bad dream. You are loved and missed so very much, Elizabeth. You remain in our hearts. It was an honor and privilege to work for you in college and call you a dear friend afterward. All My Love.

Her and her purple hair, now mine is purple too...
