Essie Dunbar

Fletcher - Essie Bell Dunbar departed this life June 21, 2013. She was one of eleven children born In Troy, SC to the late Manuel and Luna Harrison.

Essie was a longtime member of Fairmont Missionary Baptist Church where she was the Mother of the church and served as a deaconess and mission president. She was also a member of the Ladies in White choir. Essie was married to the late Frank Dunbar.

She leaves to cherish her memory, daughters, Mary Dunbar of Washington, DC, Janie Green of Toledo, OH and Lula Mills (Peter) of Fletcher; sons, Frank, Jr., Joe, Terry, David (Betty) and Robert Dunbar (Elizabeth), all of Fletcher; brother, Johnny Harrison (Gertrude) of Washington, DC; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

The funeral service will be 1 p.m., Saturday, Tried Stone Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. James Roberts officiating. The body will be placed in the church one hour before the service. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery.
