What a great person always smiling with his joke of the day. He made you happy and ready to pass it to the next person. He was the strongest Democrat that made you proud that he was on our side. Our sympathies go out to his family and his numerous friends as the
entire community will suffer his loss.

My most heartfelt condolences to Mr. Hill's friends and loved ones. His beautifully written obituary couldn't be more true; he was a generous, compassionate man, with a contagious smile for everyone. Because of him I've viewed mashed potatoes and fish in a completely different light since I met him in 1994.

It was my good fortune to work in his law office for a total of seven years in the late sixties and early seventies. What a brilliant, happy person to work with - one who was so very proud of his wife and children! Such a kind, gentle soul who would have been a millionaire many times over had he not chosen to share his knowledge and expertise with those less fortunate - often for free and always at a fraction of the value. My pleasure to have remained friends long after I was his employee. Thoughts and prayers with Helen and the family.

Our office had the pleasure of meeting and visiting with Mr. Hill on just one occasion. He stopped in to use the phone and stayed for 2 hours telling such wonderfully, entertaining stories. There isn't a week that goes by we don't mention Mr. Hill's visit and what a cheerful man he was. He was truly a wonderful man. May God comfort you during this time of loss. I know he will be missed by many.

After learning of the passing of G. Edison Hill, a man that was so dear to me, I began to think of all he taught me in the time I was employed in his law office in Asheville, NC...he taught me how to be the woman I am today... confident, strong, focused, and determined. I cannot find the words to express the gratitude for his gentle love and guidance. I will forever be indebted to him. Until we meet again...I love you Garland Edison Hill. Thanks for the joy and laughter!!!
