Grady Greene Obituary

Grady Greene, Jr.

Candler - Grady Greene, Jr., 88, of 794 Asbury Road, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at the Pisgah Manor Health Care Center.

A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was a US Army veteran during the Korean War. He retired in 1991 from the American Enka Corp/BASF following 43 years of service, where at the time of his retirement, he served as manager of Office Services.

He was the son of the late Grady Greene and Vergie Netherton Greene and husband for 63 years of Ann Jackson Greene who passed away March 8, 2011. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Mildred Graham, Helen Ball, Blanche Hawkins and Ruth Greene.

Surviving are his son, Jeffery Greene of Missoula, MT; sister, Doris Barnes of Asheville and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 PM Wednesday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. Charlie Sams officiating.

Jeff, so sorry for your loss. I recall many "painting sessions" in your basement when your dad would hand paint our slot cars and models for us. He was amazing. We wish you peace in your time of mourning.
