Hazel Guffey Obituary
Flat Rock - Hazel M. Guffey, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, went to be with The Lord on Monday September 16th at Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, NC.
Hazel is survived by her husband of almost 64 years, Onley Guffey, who she called the love of her life and her best friend; daughters, Chris Bradley of Asheville, Kathy Phillips (JB) of Hendersonville, Sandi Kisselburg (Lee) of Fairview; a son, Gordon O. Guffey Jr. (Leslie) of Fairview; grandchildren, Master Sgt. Mike Bradley Sr (Melanie)(Ft Bliss, TX), Alicia Stratton (PO2 John, serving aboard the USS Harry S Truman in the Persian Gulf), Andrew Phillips (Mary), Angela Noble, Jonathan Guffey, and Isaac Guffey (Ashley); great-grandchildren, PFC Michael Bradley Jr. (serving in Afghanistan) and Sarah Bradley, Isabella Phillips, Ava Stratton, Jackson Guffey and Brendlyn Guffey, Amanda Noble, Kelsey Noble, and Morgan Noble.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Isaac Martin and Mary Martin; sisters, Mildred Waters, Lucy Knupp, Leora Peek, and Betty Ann Wheeler; and a brother, John Martin.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 19th from 12:00 to 1:00 PM in the chapel of Wilson Family Funeral Service in Black Mountain with funeral service to follow. Rev. Todd Royal will be officiating. Burial will take place at the WNC State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain following the service.
Flowers are welcome, donations may be made in Mrs. Guffey's name to the Elizabeth House Four Seasons Hospice: 581 South Allen Rd., Flat Rock, NC 28731.

aunt hazel you will be forever missed and loved , and I am so sorry that I live so far away that I could not have visited more often. my prayers are with the rest of our family in this hard time may god watch over us all.
