Joseph Felkel Obituary
Erwin, TN - Joseph Felkel, 71, of Erwin, TN, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2016, at Unicoi County Memorial Hospital. Mr. Felkel was a native of Asheville, NC and was a son of the late David and Bonnie Ellis Felkel, Sr. He was a Sergeant, E5, in the United States Army where he served for 12 years and completed one tour in Vietnam. During his service in the United States Army, Mr. Felkel received two O/S Bars, Good Conduct Medal (1st award), Expert (Rifle M-14), Sharpshooter (M-16), Vietnam Service Medal with 4 Bronze Stars, and Vietnam Campaign Medal with 6 D Device. He had various jobs following his military career. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, David Felkel, Jr.
Joseph Felkel has left behind to cherish his memory: Daughter: Tina Marie Wilcox and husband, Lyle, of Erwin; Twin Sister: Josephine Edwards and husband, Robert (Bob), of Rochester, IN; Ex-Wife: Joy Roberts of Bronsan, FL;
Step-Sons: Joseph McAbee of Hendersonville, NC, Kenneth Pearson of Asheville, NC and Richard Alan Pearson, of Bronsan, FL; Nieces: Angela Pearson of Bronsan, FL, Davada and Diane Felkel of Asheville, NC; Nephew: Dewayne Felkel, of Asheville, NC
The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Joseph Felkel in a committal service to be held at 10:45 AM Friday, June 10, 2016 at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Reverend David Crutchfield will officiate. Those attending the graveside service will meet at Mountain Home National at 10:40 AM on Friday.
