Lynn Holman (75) went to rest with the Lord on July 9, 2021 while surrounded by her beloved daughter, Elizabeth (Ryan) and grandson, Brooks.
Born on December 21, 1945 in Hebron, OH, Lynn was later led to Black Mountain, NC where she served as a houseparent at the Presbyterian Home for Children. "Ms. Holman" shaped and transformed countless childrens' lives while at The Home.
A librarian at Montreat College for over twenty years, Lynn also served as Treasurer, lay pastor and first female deacon at First Presbyterian Church of Swannanoa.
Lynn's humbleness, strength, grace and humor are qualities that make her passing all the more heartbreaking. She is proof that angels do exist on Earth and the world is truly a better place because she was in it.
Until her passing, Lynn resided in Charleston, SC with her daughter Elizabeth Roberts (Ryan) whom she is survived by, along with Rachel Weir (Robert); grandsons, Seth Weir and Brooks Roberts and sisters, Nan Thiel, Lisa Holman and Joyce Bendick.
A private service will be held at Piney Grove Cemetery in Swannanoa, NC where Lynn will be laid to rest, surrounded by the North Carolina mountains which she considered home.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Lynn's name to the Friends of the Montreat College Library (PO Box 1297, Montreat, NC 28757) or the Black Mountain Home for Children (https://blackmountainhome.org/memorials/
We encourage those who loved Lynn to pick up a book, smell the pages and indulge in a nice, long read- it's what she is likely doing herself at this moment.
