Heartfelt sympathy to Mary Alice's family from all the staff at Hospice of McDowell County. It was my privilege as Volunteer Services Coordinator, to work with Mary Alice for almost twelve years. She had been volunteering as a Patient/Family support volunteer for many years when I joined the staff. Mary Alice provided patient caregivers the opportunity to take a weekly respite while she sat with their loved one. Mary Alice had also become a fixture as our pianist for the Hospice of McDowell annual Memorial Service. Her light shone very brightly throughout McDowell County and she will be missed. May God bless you all and grant you peace in the days ahead.

Dear Beth, Dennis, Diane, and families: Mary Alice and I became really good friends over 43 years ago. We worked together at C & A, shared breaks and lunches together. I found her to be a precious lady; loved and served God and was so devoted to her family!! We had much in common...we were pianists, loved old hymns, and thrived on good harmony and great lyrics. May your hearts be comforted in knowing that she now rests in the loving arms of her Lord and Savior...has seen her beloved Gene, her parents, Jimmy Guy, Margaret and more. She will never be lonely again, though her great faith carried her through all obstacles. This world is a better place because Mary Alice passed through. And her sweet smile touched many lives...great memories I will cherish always!!

Mary Alice lent her many gifts to Ebenezer UMC where she was a loyal member for many years, and to the greater western North Carolina Methodist community. She will be sorely missed. Mary Alice and her family were very much a part of my growing up in McDowell County, and I am saddened by the loss of yet another from my childhood. My love goes out to the family and all who loved her.

Mary Alice will be greatly missed. You never saw her without a smile on her face and a good kind word to say. People say that there are angles on earth will if you knew Mary Alice you meet one. The Lord has also gained a great piano player to go along with Uncle Guy and Margaret singing wonderful southern gospel music

I will miss Mary Alice greatly when I visit NC. It's hard to imagine Ebenezer without her and her beautiful piano playing. She was a wonderful, loving person. My heart goes out to each of the family, especially Beth and Dennis. Losing a mother is so very hard. I'll keep you all in my prayers.

I was at Lake Junaluska this week-end when I received the news of Mary Alice's death and I couldn't help but reflect on the many, many wonderful memories I have of her (and yes, Margaret and Bertha) at all the UMW events we attended together. She was a wonderful, gracious lady and I count myself blessed to call her friend. My sympathy to your entire family.

Mary Alice Bradley was a most faithful and loyal child of God who served the Lord beyond her local church, Ebenezer UMC in Old Fort. For several years she served as the Lay Leader of the Marion District, and then committed to the same role in the newly organized nine-county Blue Ridge District of the United Methodist Church. We will miss her gentle spirit, kind words, and her stellar participation in the Body of Christ. Many Methodists across these mountains offer our condolences to her extended family and close friends.
