Megan Heidt Obituary
JUNE 6, 1924 - NOV 23, 2012 - RALEIGH - Megan Guest Beam Heidt passed away peacefully to be with her Lord on November 23, 2012 in Raleigh, NC.
Megan was born in Crouse, NC to the late Henkel and Augusta Beam. She moved to Asheville at 18, married Herbert Wallace and became an active member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church. They had two daughters Nedra and Lisa. Megan operated "Wallace Day Nursery" for 21 years in the home on Hillside St. There she provided loving arms, daily outdoor play, education, and a strong faith in God.
In 1977 Megan married Herb Heidt and they spent many wonderful years living on Oak Island.
Surviving are Sister Hallin Heavner of Shelby; daughter, Nedra Wilson and husband, Mark Wilson, of Black Mountain; daughter, Lisa Wallace and husband, Paul Bryson, of Raleigh; grandchildren, Nigel Wilson, Kate Wilson of Wilmington and Cody Bryson of Raleigh.
A Memorial Service will be held at Abiding Presence Lutheran Church at Sunset Lake Rd., Fuquay-Varina, NC on Sun. Dec. 9, 2012 at 3 PM. Family will receive friends immediately following the service. A Celebration of Life is being planned for Asheville in the future. All Wallace Day Nursery Alumni are encouraged to attend and should contact [email protected].
Megan was a remarkable woman, a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother. Her life was an example of hard work, perseverance, courage and faith. She will be deeply missed.

I don't have the words to say how much she will be missed. Our family over the years attended church with her, went on river cruises with her( she insisted on using her senior discount), and sat on her backporch for hours on visits. There is even a long odd story on how she is the reason our preacher has his black belt in Kung fu. Her life has touched more people then you will ever know. She will be missed greatly. Royce
