Morris Stevens Obituary
Asheville - Morris "Bud" Edwin Stevens Jr., 79, of Asheville, died Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at the Charles George VA Medical Center, Asheville.
Born in Asheville, he was the husband of Judy (Jolly) Stevens, and the son of the late Morris Edwin Stevens, Sr and Doris (Blackburn) Stevens. He was preceded in death by a stepson, Greg Stevens, in 2011.
He was a member of Oakley Methodist Church, Asheville.
Bud was an avid golfer and was a member of and heavily involved in the running of Municipal Golf Course. A lover of beach music, he was a referee for Buncombe County High School Basketball for 10 years.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
In addition to his wife of 30 years, Bud is survived by a son, James Stevens and his wife Ronda; a stepson, Brad Stevens; a grandson, Zachary Stevens; and a sister, Ann S. Wilson and her husband Billy, all of Asheville.
An informal Time of Sharing will be held from 4 to 5 PM on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Groce Funeral Home, 856 Tunnel Road, Asheville. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 3 to 4 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Bud's memory to the charity of your choice.

I always loved golfing with Bud, from the days of Beaver Lake, Hilton, and then Muni. He took charge of the Men's Club gangsome because he loved it. His humor and wit will be missed. My condolences to his family.
