Asheville - Patricia Gail "Patsy" Penley Ramsey, 70, of 132 Joyner Avenue, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 26, 2014 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals.

A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she retired as Manager of Wilco-Hess and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church where she served as a volunteer in the kitchen.

Mrs. Ramsey was a daughter of the late Robert Gardner Penley and Clara Jo Rice Penley. She was also preceded in death by her son, Phillip Clay Penland and daughter, Barbara Jane Matthews.

Surviving are her husband whom she married July 29, 1987, Cecil Ramsey of the home; children, Karen Penland Baldwin and husband Mickey of Arden, Sharon Penland Robinson of Asheville, Tonya Penland Heatherly and husband Woody and Jimmy Penland all of Hendersonville; step daughters, Rhonda Silver and husband Keith of Marion, Janet Lynn Reed and husband Danny of Fairview; step son, Clyde Cecil Ramsey of Fairview; 13 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sisters, Lorraine Sherlin and husband Edward of Asheville and Louise Fowler and husband Doug of Hendersonville and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Sunday, December 28, 2014 at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Dwight Parrish and Rev. Allen Rash officiating. Burial will follow in Patty's Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 PM Saturday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
