Robert Cecil Henderson, 78, of Carriere, MS, passed away at home on Saturday, July 24, 2021.
Mr. Henderson was born January 9, 1943 in Glenn Springs, SC to the late Robert Lee and Easter Viola Henderson. He was a resident of South Carolina, North Carolina, Louisiana and Mississippi. Robert was a Vietnam Army Veteran serving for six years and eight months. He retired from Stennis Space Center (NASA) and was a member of Old Fashioned Baptist Church in Taylors, SC.
In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his sisters, Barbara Welch and Shirley Willis; and brother, Royce Henderson.
Robert is survived by his wife of 48 years, Linda Henderson; daughters, Deborah McDaniel of Madisonville, LA and Cynthia Miranda of Kauai, HI; sisters, Vivian Henderson of Etowah, NC and Sharon Gail Henderson of Wesley Chapel, FL; brothers, Donald Henderson of Etowah, NC, Dean Henderson of Fairview, NC, Doug Henderson of Columbus, NC and Gene Henderson of Moncks Corner, SC; grandchildren, Louis Aguilar, Andre Aguilar, Rachel Bendernagel and Gabrielle Johnston; and great grandchildren, Braydon, Marcus, Levi and Charlie Marie.
The family will receive friends Friday, August 6, 2021 from 10:15 to 11:45am at Harwood Home for Funerals & Cremation Services, Black Mountain, NC. A celebration of life service will follow at 12:00pm at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
