Andrew M. Minnick of Newport Twp. passed away surrounded by his loving family Monday, Nov. 21, 2022, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Twp.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, Andrew was the son of the late Joseph Minnick and Dolores Kulyeshie Minnick. He attended GAR High School and was a member of All Saints Parish, Plymouth. Andrew was employed by the Nanticoke Area School District in the maintenance department. Previously, he was employed by the Allyn Sincavage Construction Company.
Andrew enjoyed helping family and friends and was gifted in many trades. He shared his talents to anyone needing a hand, often putting others' needs before his own. It was through helping others that Andrew showed his love.
He enjoyed traveling and cruising with his wife, Joan. Countless memories were made through the years on their many family camping and road trips.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Minnick Jr.
Surviving are his loving wife, Joan; sons, Andrew Jr. (Lurena), Dorrance Twp.; and Matthew (Peyton), San Diego, Calif.; and grandsons, Braxton, Brycen, Pierce and Banks. Andrew often talked about how much he loved his grandchildren. He was an adoring Pop Pop who enjoyed playing and laughing with his boys. He is deeply missed by all.

Andy was my cousin who I had not seen in over 55 years since we left Pa. for Florida in 1959. He was 6 years younger than me and he grew up to be an incredible Father, raising two successful sons, who in turn, honored him with beautiful grandchildren. His tragic passing at only 62 shows us how precious life is and to live it the best you can everyday. My godmother, Alma Minnick Mattias, is the only living relative left in Pa. on both sides of the Minnick and Schrader families. Andy reached out and helped Aunt Alma, I will always be grateful for his help. May God bless his wife, his sons and their wives and the beautiful families that will live on knowing that Andy made a difference in this world.
