Ann Elizabeth Berrini, 69, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2024, at Allied Services Hospice Center, Wilkes-Barre.
She was born in Wilkes-Barre, a daughter of the late Michael and Ann Kelly Guzzo. Ann was a graduate of Coughlin High School, Class of 1972, where she met and started dating her future husband. They would spend 55 years together, a testament to her loyalty to family and those she loved.
In addition to her devotion to family and friends, Ann extended kindness to all that she met. Casual acquaintances quickly became unlikely friendships, as she listened with genuine interest and always remembered the details the next time they spoke. Her enthusiasm and positivity as a high school cheerleader continued throughout her life, always cheering and rooting for family and friends in all that they did.
Ann enjoyed arts, entertainment and fine dining, often taking trips to New York City to see musicals and have delicious meals. In Ann's company her laughter was infectious and brightened any room. She truly did live for the moment and focused on the bright side of life.
Prior to her retirement, Ann was employed for 50 years at Conyngham & Company and later at Wegmans. Ann was a member of St. Nicholas-St. Mary's Parish, Wilkes-Barre. At St. Dominic's Church, she taught Sunday school and coached youth soccer in Parsons.
Ann is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Dominick Berrini; sons, Dominic Berrini, Burlington, Vt.; and Samuel Berrini and his wife, Marissa, Charlotte, N.C.; sisters, Kathleen Guzzo Williams and her husband, David; and Ellen Kelly; brothers, Michael Guzzo and his wife, Kathy; and Samuel Guzzo and his wife, Michele; mother-in-law, Marion Berrini; brother-in-law, Michael Berrini; sisters-in-law, Michelle Casey and her husband, Jack and Diane Puchalski and her husband, Robert; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ann's husband, Dominick, and her family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at Allied Services Hospice Center for their compassionate care. They are truly angels on Earth.
A celebration of Ann's life will begin with a visitation for family and friends from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Nicholas Church, 226 S. Washington St., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10 a.m. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Twp.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ann's memory to Allied Services Hospice Center, 200 S. Meade St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702.

So sad to see Ann has passed. I grew up in Parsons, went to St Dominic's and Coughlin. Such a beautiful woman. Lost touch until years later met up with her at Wegmans. Of course we talked like we just saw each other yesterday! Then didn't see her for awhile until I was mailing a letter at the W-B post office and a woman said my name. It was Ann. She told me what she had been going thru. I understood. Both my Husband and I went thru it. lost 2 of my sisters to it. Let her know she was strong, she could beat it. Sometimes, no matter how strong you are, it wins. God love you Ann, you will be missed.

To Ann´s family: I had the privilege of working with Ann at Wegmans, and later had the honor of styling her hair for a few years. Ann was one of the kindest, most empathetic, and beautiful people I have had the pleasure to know and work with. It was a pleasure to know her. May your family find joy in her memory.

Dear Dom and family,
What can I say about this... what a gift our Lord sent when He allowed Ann to come into the world and grace us with her presence. She brought joy to everyone who met her and was loved so much in return. She was blessed to have found the perfect life long companion when she met and married Dom, who I was lucky enough to have as a friend. The times we shared going out for dinner are memories I think about often... so much laughter and fun!
I´m truly hurting with you... my tears don´t seem to stop flowing.. please know I´m here if you ever need anything Dom.. and I know Lorraine is with her now... and they´ll never leave us... close your eyes and she´ll be there...
Much love and respect,
Charlie

My condolences to the entire family. Ann was truly one of the people you would most want to meet and know on this planet. She was kind and I can honestly say I never saw her without a smile. Although I didn´t see her much recently I will never forget how she was so sweet and always made the time to talk, say hello and ask how we were doing. Dom had a gem of a life partner!

I was very sad to hear of Ann`s passing.
Although I no longer live in Wilkes-Barre and haven´t seen Ann in many years, when I would picture her face, I would smile. Her legacy of joy is what I will remember.
Several years ago, when I was undergoing cancer treatment, in spite of the distance between our homes, she was one of my most enthusiastic and caring supporters.
I offer my condolences and blessings to her family.
