Anthony Swalla Obituary

Anthony "Tony" Swalla, 89, of Nanticoke, passed away Friday, Feb. 5, 2021, in Gino J. Merli Veterans Center, Scranton.

Tony was born in Nanticoke on Feb. 16, 1931. He was the son of the late Anthony and Stella Baluta Swalla. Tony served his country with the U.S. Air Force and was employed by CertainTeed for several years.

Tony was preceded in death by an infant sister and sister, Anne Jones.

Surviving are his wife, the former Sylvia Nowasadski; sons, Michael A. Swalla and his wife, Sandra; John J. Swalla, Andrew T. Swalla; daughter, Rebecca A. Mayberry and her husband, James; two granddaughters, Jessica and Anastacia; nieces and a nephew.

The funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday from Earl Lohman Funeral Home Inc., 14 W. Green St., Nanticoke, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Faustina Parish, Hanover Street, Nanticoke. Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Friends may call from 8:30 a.m. to service time.
