Barbara J. Hargrave

Barbara J. Hargrave, 50, of Hughestown, passed away Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Twp., following a prolonged illness.

Barbara was the daughter of the late Michael Dixon and Catherine Lyons Asay. She was a graduate of Pittston Area High School, Class of 1985.

A former resident of Wyoming, Barbara moved to the Pittston area when she was in junior high school. She and her husband, Don, resided in Appomattox, Va., for seven years before returning to the area five years ago.

Barbara was employed by Barry Callebaut USA, formerly Gertrude Hawk Chocolates, as a quality control specialist.

She loved the outdoors, fishing and camping with her husband, children and then grandchildren. Most importantly, Barbara was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were a son, Angus Bon; sister, Michaelyn Dixon; infant brother, Michael; paternal and maternal grandparents; and several aunts and uncles.

Surviving are her husband, Donald Hargrave, Hughestown, with whom she would have celebrated 32 years of marriage on Dec. 20; children, Ryan, Trish, Cidney and Donald Hargrave, all of Hughestown and Breanne and Barbara Hargrave, both of Pittston; grandchildren, Ivry, Joshua and Abel; sister, Christine Smith, Texas; Lisa Naugle, Wilkes-Barre; Amanda Brown, Freeland; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of family.
