Caroline Kelly Obituary

Caroline J. Kelly, 92, of Plains Twp., passed peacefully into the hands of the Lord on Monday, Sept. 4, 2017.

Born in Wyoming, Caroline lived most of her life in Plains Twp. She was the daughter of the late Sterling and Laura Mervine Lutz.

Caroline attended Plains Memorial High School and worked at the Kiddie Shoppe, Wilkes-Barre.

Following her marriage, Caroline devoted her life to the care of her family and community. She enjoyed baking and sharing those baked goods with family, friends and neighbors. Caroline also enjoyed crossword puzzles. But her greatest joy was her family and the pride she felt in the accomplishments of her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis G. Kelly, in 2003; sisters Mildred Eustice, Martha Harding, Evelyn Femau and Ruth Forlenza; and brothers, William Lutz and Marvin Lutz.

Caroline is survived by her children, Frank Kelly and wife, Pam, Shavertown; and Virginia and husband, Mark Manarski, Plains Twp.; grandchildren, Attorney Lauren Michaels, Lindsey Kelly, Erica Manarski and Benjamin Manarski; sisters, Margaret "Peggy" Arcadu, Easton; and Laura Kotula, Dupont; nieces, nephews and friends.

Caroline's family would like to thank Dr. Olshemski and Dr. Protyniak and the wonderful staff of Timber Ridge for their tender care of Caroline in her final days.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Plains United Methodist Church or the American Red Cross.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday from Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 S. Main St., Plains Twp., with the Rev. Paul Amara, pastor of Plains United Methodist Church, officiating.

Relatives and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
