Celine Larose, 81, of Pittston, passed away Sunday, Feb. 12, 2023, at the Avoca home of her daughter under the care of Companionate Care Hospice.
She was born March 23, 1941,
in Springfield, Mass., the daughter of the late Raymond and Margaret Dzirkall Larose.
Celine was a member of Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish Church, Pittston.
She was employed by Topps Chewing Gum until its closing and retired from Walmart, Pittston.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joel J. Gurley, on Nov. 20, 1970; son, Joel E. Gurley; sister, Theresa Mascaro; and brother-in-laws, Joseph Mascaro and Richard Michaels.
Celine is survived by her children, Charlene and her husband, Gary Gaudette, Springfield, Mass.; Lynn Naugle and her husband Ray, Pittston; Edward Gurley and his companion, Judy O'Boyle, Duryea; Doreen Widdick and her companion, Mike Moughan, Pittston; Lori Gurley and her husband, Robert Bejeski, Avoca; and David Trombly, Duryea; sister, Marie Michaels, Enfield, Conn.; 20 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; her beloved dog, Lucky #7; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be privately held at the convenience of the family.
