Daniel D. Shedlock, 79, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend passed into eternal life Saturday morning, Oct. 30, 2021, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Twp., following a recent illness.
Born Oct. 18, 1942, in Wilkes-Barre, he just celebrated his 79th birthday two weeks prior to his passing. He was one of eleven children to the late Andrew and Anna Matichka Shedlock. While in high school, he met his sweetheart, the former Rosemary Chopko. They married June 9, 1962. Together the couple raised two generations of children, sharing almost 60 years of married life together.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Shedlock was employed for over 30 years in the production department at the Inter Metro Corporation, Wilkes-Barre.
In his spare time, Daniel was an avid reader, and was a staunch New York Giants football fan, despite how well the season was going for them.
He was preceded in death by siblings, Anne Shedlock Marian Totino, Andrew Shedlock, Michael Shedlock, Dolores Haggerty, Patricia Rock, Thomas Shedlock and Florence Shovlin.
Left to cherish his memory, in addition to his beloved wife, Rosemary, at home, are the couple's children, including Mark Shedlock, Pittston; Colleen Eddinger, Hughesville; Susan Stanski and her husband, Robert, Centermoreland; Dr. Daniel Shedlock and his wife, Catrina, Knoxville, Tenn.; Gary Shedlock and his wife, Karen, Forty Fort; Paul Shedlock and his wife, Melanie, Knoxville, Tenn.; Laura Shedlock, Plains Twp.; 9 grandchildren, Sarah, Robert, Emily, Alyssa, Johnny, Dylan, Morgan, Abigail and Madelyn; brother, Mr. Joseph Shedlock and his wife, Phyllis, Long Pond; sister, Mrs. Helen McDonald, Florida; and numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Inurnment with the Rite of Committal will follow in St. Mary's Roman Catholic Cemetery, 1594 S. Main St., Hanover Twp., where military honors will be accorded by the United States Marine Corps.
Relatives and friends may join the Shedlock family for visitation and shared remembrances directly at church from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass Thursday.
