Denise Pierce Obituary
Denise C. Pierce, 49, of Ashley, passed away Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Wilkes-Barre on Oct. 5, 1971, she was the daughter of Charles D. and Lucille M. Victor Pierce.
She was a graduate of Bishop Hoban High School, Wilkes-Barre, Class of 1989. She was employed as a cash/vault supervisor by Garda World, Hanover Twp., and as an assistant manager by A.C. Moore, Dickson City. She was a member of St. Leo's/Holy Rosary Church, Ashley.
Denise enjoyed gardening, going to craft shows, creating her own crafts, she was an avid reader who enjoyed her large collection of books. She loved to decorate her home with her loving family for all of the holidays and she had a particular fondness for all things penguin related. Lastly, Denise was known for her big heart. She loved to help anyone in need, but she took great pride in donating to many local veteran organizations.
She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Joseph and Julia Victor; and paternal grandparents, Charles and Margaret Pierce.
Surviving are her loving parents, Charles and Lucille Pierce; and her brother, Charles J. Pierce; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday from George A. Strish Inc. Funeral Home, 105 N. Main St., Ashley. A Mass of Christian Burial is at 10 a.m. in St. Leo's/Holy Rosary Church with the Rev. Vincent Dang officiating.
Family and friends may call from 4 to7 p.m. Sunday and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Monday.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Denise’s untimely passing. She was a classmate at St Leo’s and Bishop Hoban. I remember her as sweet, intelligent, and happy. My deepest condolences and prayers.
