Where do you begin when words don't seem enough....how can you explain what a person means to you in just a few words. He was my brother in law and my friend. He could make you smile and laugh even when you were having the worst day. His love for his family showed in everything he did. A very simple man, a husband that had a never ending love for my sister. A father who was so proud of my niece it showed through everything he did. A friend who was always there for you. A man who could do just about anything and if he couldn't, nobody could. His love and memory will carry with all who has known him. From the the beginning until the end he could always make us laugh without even trying. I will never forget how you helped me believe in myself at a difficult time in my life. I thank you for loving my sister with all your heart. Thank you for giving me my beautiful niece. She is a daughter after your own heart. When someone asks how to fix something, we can now say Brandi can... Because she learned it all by watching you! I will miss you Dwayne.. Your smile, your laugh, your memory will forever be in my heart. Rest now.. We will see you again. Love, Janell

Becky and Brandi,
Please know that I am thinking of you at this very difficult time. I was away when Linda sent me the news. I offered up a prayer from the beach in NC. It was a peaceful and beautiful day and as I reflected on Dwayne and his life, I remembered his beautiful smile and his giving spirit. He was always there to help me when I needed something at school. He is a great guy. You were all lucky to have each other. Now you must go on without him and it will be awful. But he would want you to carry his love and spirit along. Know that people care about you and are thinking and praying for you during this very difficult time.

August 30, 2013

Becky, that prayer was from me and Bruce. You are an amazing woman. You have been so strong for Dwayne. That is exactly how he wants you to (stay.) He was so remarkable!!! He was such a happy guy. never whined or complained and you were such a wonderful wife. We know you will stay strong for him. We will (Always) be there for you. ALWAYS!!!! You are an inspiration!!! Having been friends for so long has changed us. You have changed our lives in such a good way. You and Dwayne are the True meaning of TRUE FRIENDSHIP!!! Your forever friends-- Bruce and Linda.

August 30, 2013

Becky---A prayer for you.
LORD,You know so well the rough time I am going through now. Help me know that You are in the middle of every storm----to calm the seas---to wipe my tears---and to keep me safe from the raging waters. Thank You for walking with me through my pain----for sending a gentle rain---that reminds me that your tears are are falling with mine.
Dwayne was an incredible person. As you have always said "He was your Hero" and always will be. He will always be in our hearts as well as you, Brandi and Mike. We will always have Fond memories of Dwayne. He was everyones Rock.

The words are not easy to find, When you lose someone as special as Dwayne, I sit and wonder why, and cannot think of any reason, but remember we almost lost him once a long time ago in high school, and wonder why God left him here that time... Maybe it was to meet you Becky and bring you into this family, and create a beautiful daughter Brandi. Maybe now God has plans for Dwayne to fulfill, and knows that Dwayne has shared his love for life with you and Brandi... So that you can teach your future Grandchildren what Love really means. Dwayne was loved by many and will be missed by all... I know Jeff will miss the phone calls about hunting and where he left the cart...

But we thank Dwayne for bringing you and Brandi into our lives.. You will always be a part of our Family.

You can learn a lot about a man by walking with him. You share your views, your knowledge and your beliefs. Slowly you begin to trust one another. And then one day it happens, a friendship is born that is strong and grows stronger each time you meet. The more you learn about this man the more you respect him, you look forward to the times you will meet. I walk that road every day. I think of you with each walk. Until we walk together again, be at peace my friend.

Where to start, I have such amazing memories of going fishes up the lake, to all of our hikes and bike rides through out much of my childhood. Dwayne and Becky I am so thankful for you both for allowing me to spend so much of my younger days with Brandi on so many family trips and outings. I am a better person for having you all in my life. I miss him already, and regret not telling him thank you for all that he has done for me and all that he has taught me, and tried to teach me. (Still am not good at shooting a bow). I will hold all those memories close to my heart. May he rest easy.

Uncle Dwayne was the best uncle a person could have. Not only was he sooooo funny, and made me laugh just thinking of things he said throughout the years; he was an excellent role model. He knew what is important in this life and he lived his life accordingly. We will deeply miss his presence but he will always be in our thoughts and our hearts and I will still always laugh at inappropriate times thinking of stories that he has told me. I will always love you, Dwayne. Until we meet again, rest peacefully.

August 20, 2013

Dear Becky,
I felt so close to you throughout the last three very difficult months.I know all about the pain when losing the love of our life...may you find the peace and acceptance that I have been told we all--eventually--will find, and may you then have only the wonderful memories and the gratitude to have had him as you loved and loving husband. Uncle Dwayne was a big part of my younger years. I visited him along with Aunt Becky and Brandi frequently. Uncle Dwayne always wanted me to have fun while I came up and visited. We have done very many enjoyable things together such as going out on his boat, trying to throw apples over his big tree, taking trips to Disney World, beating him in basketball behind Gram's house, sledding down his huge hill in the back yard, these are only a few things that I will write that has made Dwayne the best uncle a nephew could ask for. I don't think I have ever told him how much I enjoyed every second with him and that I loved him and I regret that to this day, but I know we both have shared some great times and I will never forget them. I love you Uncle Dwayne and you will always be remembered.

Dear Dwayne. I remember the camping trips to Moon Lake, watching you guys fly those RC Planes and wonder why you'd keep flying them when all they'd do was crash in the woods (LOL!), the countless quad rides and stops to drink and eat pepperoni and cheese bagels, the parties and cookouts over the years....countless fond memories. Most of all, I will always remember how wonderful a friend, husband, and father you are. You are missed and loved by many. God Bless. Rest in Peace.
