Eleanor "Ellie" Krutulis, 60, of Duryea, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2020, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
She was born in Beaumont on March 7, 1960, and was the daughter of the late Frank and Genevieve Yale Stoss.
Ellie was so very loved by her family and friends. She was first and foremost a mother. She was the best mom a daughter could ever ask for. She was a housewife for most of her years and loved taking care of people. Whether it was cooking for her family or making baked goods for a friend, she just always wanted to take care of everyone.
She had struggled with health issues, but had worked hard and was proud to regain her health this past year. While her passing was sudden and unexpected, the last year of her life was the happiest she had ever been. We are so grateful for the wonderful time that God gave us with her. It was truly a precious gift. She will live on through her beloved daughter, husband, family and friends. Ellie will always be remembered as the wonderful mother, wife, sister, aunt and friend that she was.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, John and Lowell Stoss.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Joseph Krutulis; her daughter, Kari and her husband, Kenneth Carey, Exeter; and her sister-in-law, Mary Krutulis, Jenkins Twp. Also surviving are several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph Marello Parish, 237 William St., Pittston, with the Rev. Joseph Elston officiating.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Kiesinger Funeral Services Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea. Family and friends are asked to go directly to the church for services. If attending Ellie's viewing or Mass, please be mindful that masks and social distancing are mandatory.
