Frances Ann Daczka, 87, of Avoca, passed away Sunday, March 28, 2021, at Green Ridge Health Care Center, Scranton.
She was born in Dupont on Oct. 20, 1933, and was the daughter of the late George and Mary Kopec Chrobak.
Frances was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Dupont, and a former member of Ss. Peter and Paul Church, Avoca, until its closing. She was a graduate of Avoca High School and a graduate of Mercy Heights School of Nursing, Scranton. She retired as a visiting nurse after many years of employment. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Walter "Wally" Chrobak.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Charles Daczka; her children, Charles and his wife, Cindy, Dover; David and his wife, Julie, Madison Twp.; Mark and his wife, Lisa, Pittston Twp.; and her daughter, Mary Beth Daczka, Avoca. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Aniell and husband, Ofir Tomer; Liana and husband, Nick Owad; Rachell Daczka; Kyle Daczka and his wife, Kate; Amanda Smerdon and her husband, Mark; and Tyler and Aiden Daczka; her great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Zoe Smerdon; and Talia Tomer; her sisters, Mary Orlock and her husband, John, Avoca; and Rosann Kumor, Shillington; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday from Kiesinger Funeral Services Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 215 Lackawanna Ave., Dupont, with the Rev. Thomas Petro officiating. Friends may call from 8:30 a.m. until the time of Mass on Thursday.
Interment will be held in Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery, Dupont.
