Frank Mazur Obituary

Frank A. Mazur Jr. of Hanover Township passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Oct. 31, 2015.

Born March, 5, 1953, in Kingston, he was a son of the late Frank and Mary (Czajkowski) Mazur of Plymouth. He was a graduate of Wyoming Valley West High School, Class of 1970, and attended SUNY Broome County in New York state.

From a young age, Frank was an industrious and dynamic personality who had a passion for the pizza business. While still in school, he began working at Joe's Pizza in Plymouth, and then later for his brother-in-law at Arnold's Pizza, Plymouth. He opened his first business, The Pizza Shack, in 1972 in Ashley. He found his soulmate and partner for life when he married Mollie (Mikluscak) Mazur of Larksville. Together, they operated additional restaurant businesses throughout the Wyoming Valley in Ashley, Wilkes-Barre and Nanticoke, as well as in Wildwood, N.J., and Cape Coral, Fla. He recently opened a new location in Kingston, Budd's Pizza Café and Page 134 Sports Hub. He shared that same passion and spirit with his children, who work in some capacity at the family business.

Frank is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mollie (Mikluscak) Mazur; children, Nicole Mazur and companion, Adam Rudolph, Sheatown; Melanie Mazur and companion, Bruce Westerdale, Sheatown; Drew Mazur, Newport Township; and Maury Mazur, Hanover Township; sister, Gloria Ricko, and brother-in-law, Tom Ricko, Plymouth; sister, Beverly Brunozzi, and brother-in-law, Dave Brunozzi, Swoyersville; 15 nieces and nephews; and his canine companion, Buddy.

Mr. Mazur was preceded in death by his beloved son, Armond, and brother-in-law, Arnold Mascioli.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at All Saints Parish, 66 Willow St., Plymouth. Friends may call on the family at the church one hour prior to the time of service.

The family asks that any memorial donations be made to The Muscular Dystrophy Association, P.O. Box 97075, Washington, DC 20077-7258, or at www.mda.org.

Arrangements are by Kielty-Moran Funeral Home Inc., 87 Washington Ave., Plymouth.
