Howard Metzger Obituary
Howard P. Metzger, 74, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2022.
Howard was born in Morenci, Arizona, son of the late Howard Paul Metzger and late Catherine Barnes Metzger.
Howard married Marjorie Smith in 1985 and they raised three children in Wilkes-Barre - Stephanie Metzger (Jason Esser), Kelly Metzger and Drew Metzger. Also surviving are children, Corey Metzger and Kimberly Metzger; brothers, William Metzger and Dennis Metzger (Lenore Bruno).
Howard worked for WNEP Radio in Nanticoke as Howard Paul. He went on to work for Channel 16 and then became the owner of Metzger's Cleaning Services for 40 years. This was not just his profession but his passion. He was well known for his knowledge in the industry.
Howard enjoyed training and raising Seeing Eye Puppies for The Seeing Eye in Morristown, N.J. He and his family raised 15 puppies in 16 years for The Seeing Eye, many of which went on to become guide dogs. Howard loved any activities with his family. He relaxed by going fishing and telling tales of the one that got away.
A celebration of life is currently being planned by the family and will be announced in the near future.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Pawsabilities Seeing Eye Puppy Raisers, 2 Stoney Side Drive, Laurel Run, PA 18706.

Sorry to hear about Howard´s passing. May God our Father receive him in His heavenly Kingdom. Howard was my long-lost cousin whom we had never got to talk or see since childhood. Rest in Jesus Christ´s Peace. Amen
