Jack Scally Jr., 58, of Nanticoke, passed away Sunday, Aug. 20, 2023, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Slocum Twp.
Born April 13, 1965 in Union, N.J., he was the son of the late Jack and Martha Moss Scally. Earlier in life he resided in Glen Lyon and was a graduate of John S. Fine High School, Nanticoke, and was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army. Jack also had lived in Maryland and Virginia for several years, returning to the area in 2018.
He began his career in construction with his father and later became a self-employed general contractor.
He was a member of American Legion Post 350; Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 834; the 400 Club; and the Quoit Club, all of Nanticoke.
In addition to his parents, Jack and Martha Scally, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Ruth Scally; Alvin Moss; and Fred and Mildred Moss Fuller.
He is survived by his sister, Beverly Figlerski, Nanticoke; nephew, Joseph Figlerski; great-niece, Mia Hamilton, Nanticoke; nephew, Brandon Figlerski, Glen Lyon; and several cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday from Dinelli Family Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad St., Nanticoke, with the Rev. Timothy Hall, pastor of Nebo Baptist Church, officiating.
Private interment will be in Sorbertown Cemetery, Hunlock Twp.
Friends and relatives may call for viewing and visitation hours from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
