Jack Reese Scheatzle, 88, of Duryea, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2024, at Allied Meade Street Hospice, Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Duryea, he was the son of the late John and Beatrice Simmons Scheatzle and was a graduate of Duryea High School.
He was preceded in death by his wife the former, Theresa Ann Czeronka, on April 15, 2022; brothers, Alyn, Glenn, Dennis and Kenneth; and sister, Sandra Sochovka.
Surviving are his son, John Scheatzle and his wife, Candy, Swoyersville; nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main St., Duryea. Funeral services and entombment will be private at Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Avoca Ambulance Association, 740 Main St., Avoca, PA 18641.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. I worked with Jack a million years ago at the Giant Mkt. Years later I would see him at Schiffs. He was always such a nice guy. Rest in Peace Jack.
