Jacqueline Munro Obituary

Jacqueline E. Munro, 52, of Manheim passed away unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 11, 2014, in Lancaster General Hospital following a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of Roy D. and Evelyn C. Urquhart Munro.

Jacqueline was baptized in the Christian faith.

Following graduation from Manheim Central High School in 1980, she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Elizabethtown College. She earned a master's degree in literature from Drew University.

Jacqueline was employed as director of public relations and development by Earth Conservancy, Scranton. Previously, she was employed as an instructional leader by the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) and as editor of the Columbia (Pa.) Ledger newspaper.

She was a lover and protector of the outdoors and all the creatures that made it home. In addition to her adventurous spirit, she possessed a spirit of caring, generosity and kindness. She enjoyed traveling, especially visiting her ancestral home of Scotland.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by a sister, Heather M., wife of David J. Schnorbus, Haymarket, Va.; and their sons, David and Jack.

Services are private, with interment in Hernley Mennonite Cemetery, Manheim. There will be no public viewing.

I had the chance to have dinner with Jackie and Doris Kelly a few years ago here in Reading. I will always remember her very fondly! She was a great person!
