James J. Costanzo

James J. Costanzo, 93, of Pittston, died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017, at The Gardens at East Mountain, Wilkes-Barre.

Born May 15, 1924, in Pittston, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Pasqualina Sciandra Costanzo.

He served in the U.S. Army as a tank commander during World War II under General Patton, having served with distinction during Battle of the Bulge.

James worked at Leslie Fay as a supervisor in the trim department and at Markdata as a plant supervisor.

In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Volpe Costanzo (1979); sisters, Josephine and Jessie Costanzo.

Surviving are his two sons, Nick and wife, Kathy Costanzo, Pittston; Angelo and wife, JoAnn Costanzo, Laflin; grandchildren, Marla Costanzo, Pittston; Michael Costanzo, South Carolina; Dr. James Costanzo, Delaware; Courtney Hamoy, Philadelphia; great-grandchildren, Nicholas Joseph, Demetri Vincenzo, Luca and Luca Michael; sister, Eleanor Galante, Burbank, Calif.; brother, Angelo Costanzo, Chambersburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are in the care of Graziano Funeral Home Inc., Pittston Twp.

Viewing hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Interment services will follow in St. Rocco's Cemetery, Pittston Twp.
