James Harold Riley Jr., 68, of Wyoming, passed away Monday, Dec. 27, 2021, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Pittston, Jan. 12, 1953, James was the son of the late James Harold Sr. and Mary Betty Quinn Riley.
Prior to his retirement, James was employed by Techneglas Corp.
James was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors. He was also a proud member of AA. His early years were spent in scouting, where he attained the rank of Eagle Scout, as well as receiving many awards and top honors for his achievements in wheelchair basketball.
Above all, James was a devoted dad and some of his proudest moments were spent watching his son, Brendan, play football.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Riley; his brothers-in-law, John Wesoloski and James Lynch; and nephew, Jonathan Conklin.
Surviving are his son, Brendan Riley and his companion, Destiny Westbrook; his siblings, Betsy Wesoloski; Deborah Lynch; Patrick Riley and his wife, Joann; and Rosemary Karsko; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend James's memorial visitation which will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Bednarski Funeral Home, 168 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.
A memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Peter Tomczak officiating.
