Jeffrey Alan Minkoff of Avoca was called home to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, May 10, 2022.
Jeff was born in Atlanta, Ga. He was a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial management. During his professional career, he worked for Allis-Chalmers Corp., Rockwell International Missile Systems Division; Siemens Energy & Automation, Inc.; and SKF USA, Inc. He was a member of the American Society for Quality.
Jeff's career path as a quality manager and director of quality assurance led him to live in numerous states besides Georgia, including Missouri, Pennsylvania and North Carolina. He later became an independent contractor with Graebel Van Lines. He was awarded "All Star Fleet" recognition in 2003 for excellent service and "Driver of the Year" in 2004. In 2006, Jeff became an independent owner/operator for LandStar Express America until his retirement in 2013.
Jeff married the love of his life and his "gift from God," the former Diane Durkin, on April 9, 2010. Together they started their life in Georgia, traveling the U.S.A. and Canada until Jeff's diagnosis of early onset Alzheimer's disease.
Jeff loved the Lord Jesus and he had a servant's heart toward people. He helped anyone in need. He was an avid golfer and customized golf clubs. He had a love for Scottish terriers, which he bred, and golden retrievers. Jeff loved the beauty of God's glorious creation and never tired of traveling the U.S. and Canada. He was at home driving his truck across this beautiful country. He traveled to Ireland, Czechoslovakia, Korea, Hawaii and Japan in his lifetime. Jeff loved his family and friends very much. He was dedicated to his work, a man of integrity, a loving husband and faithful brother, uncle and friend.
He was preceded in death by his father, Don R. Minkoff; mother, Anne Methven; stepdad, Don Methven; father-in-law, John F. Durkin Sr.; paternal grandparents, Abe and Gussy Minkoff; maternal grandparents, Charles and Dorothy Kauffman; uncle, Irving and aunt, Ruth Minkoff; and great-nephews, Charles Matthew D'Aiello and Kresson Tanzer Flinn.
Besides his wife, Diane, he is survived by his stepmother, Amy Schulz (Bill), Fallbrook, Calif.; mother-in-law, Louise Durkin (Joseph Dombroski), Avoca; brothers, Mike Minkoff (Debbie), Sugar Hill, Ga.; David Methven (Stephanie), Austin Texas; Karl Methven (Diane), Andover, N.H.; sisters, Donna Prachman, Atlanta, Ga.; Paula Allen, Simi Valley, Calif.; Connie McHaddad, Canoga Park, Calif.; Dale (Ned) Methven-Brady, Blufton, S.C.; aunts, Deedy Anderson, Kingwood, Texas; Josie Gardner, Pittston; uncle, Peter Tonte, Trucksville; sister-in-law, Ann Marie D'Aiello, Avoca; brothers-in-law, John Durkin Jr. (Jacqueline), Pittston; Brian (Donna), Duryea; and numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, cousins and friends.
Many thanks to the staff of Arcadia and Traditional Hospices and those family and friends who assisted with his care on a daily basis. You will never be forgotten.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Saturday in Hope Church in the Cee Kay Auto Plaza, 4949 Birney Ave, Moosic. At 11 a.m., the funeral will be livestreamed on Facebook at hopechurchnepa. Jeff's body will be committed to burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Avoca, where it will rest and await reunion with his soul at the resurrection when Jesus Christ returns.

Diane , I´m so very sorry for your loss. It was such and honor to have met you , Jeff and your family. I do treasure our time together as I was able to help in his caregiving.
