Joan Kennelly Obituary
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Myrtle (née Lynch) Hillyer, and was a graduate of Mastbaum High School, Philadelphia.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Church and very much enjoyed working in the church kitchen with her friends.
She enjoyed bingo and spending time with her family and friends. She was employed as a private secretary by Abbotts Dairy in Philadelphia, prior to retiring.
Joan is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, retired Philadelphia police officer, Frank Kennelly; sons, whom she was very proud of, Philadelphia police lieutenant, Frank Kennelly and his wife, Philadelphia police officer,Michele, Philadelphia; Philadelphia police officer, Sean Kennelly and his wife, Mary Ann, Philadelphia; Michael Kennelly and his wife, Cynthia, Kidder Twp.; nine grandchildren; and her dog, Abbie.
A Memorial Mass will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 9 in St. Patrick's Church, 411 Allegheny St., White Haven, with the Rev. Michael Kloton officiating. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of Mass in the church.
Arrangements are by Lehman Family Funeral Service, 403 Berwick St., White Haven.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Patrick's Kitchen, c/o St. Patricks Church, White Haven.

I remember in the middle 1970's that Joan called me and said that Sean had a high temperature. I said get him ready and I will be there and take him to the Dr. down off of I 95 and we were home in time to make dinner.

We first met when I moved to Hegerman Street in Philadelphia October 1, 1970. We have been good friends and neighbors since that. Almost 48 years have past and now you are in a better pain free place. Special prayers for Frank and your sons and families.
