Joan Martin-Rittenhouse Obituary
She was born in Wilkes-Barre on Sept. 8, 1947, and married Luther V. Rittenhouse on Nov. 1, 1975, who survives her. They were married for 40 years.
Joan worked for Holly Dress in Nanticoke for 15 years, then served as banquet waitress at Alden Manor, Alden, for 10 years.
Joan is survived by her husband, Luther V. Rittenhouse, Windsor, N.Y.; her daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda A. and Gary S. Swain, Florida; and April L. and Jason Cease, Windsor, N.Y.; stepchildren, Barry Rittenhouse and Sandy, Hunlock Creek; and Mark Rittenhouse, Pennsylvania; three grandchildren, Nathan E. Swain and Evy L. and Addison M. Cease; sister, Sandra Fedorchak, Pennsylvania; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held in Zion Episcopal Church, 50 Chapel St., Windsor, N.Y., at 11 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Ronald Cease of Valley View Chapel, Larksville, will officiate.

The Joan I got to know was truly a one of a kind genuine soul,with a loving heart and sweet to a fault. I was heartbroken to see this but feel blessed to have known her. Luther, I am so sorry for your loss.

Such a strong hearted woman who loved those closest to her so deeply. As they truly loved her as well. I'm very glad I had the ability to spend a recent week with her in Florida and share some laughs and great memories. She will be missed.
