Joann E. Simonson, 75, of Plains Twp., succumbed to her illness Monday, July 18, 2022, after fighting a very courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her family under the care of hospice at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Twp.
Born in Kingston on July 4, 1947, she was the oldest of three children of the late Raymond and Josephine "Dolly" Stair.
She graduated from Kingston Area High School, Class of 1965.
She met her beloved husband, Ronald Simonson, at Sans Souci Dance Hall and danced their way to marriage on June 3, 1967. The happy couple made their home in Plains Twp., where they raised their two children, Kimberly and Keith.
Joann loved enjoying time with family and friends visiting casinos, beaches, boardwalk's and pools. She will be deeply missed by her sidekick, "Snoopy Dog."
This last year had been especially hard for Joann, but she was a fighter to the very end. Our hearts have been broken and we will miss our loving mother, wife, grandmother and dearest friend.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Raymond and Dolly; and brother, Raymond.
Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Ronald, Plains Twp.; daughter, Kimberly and her fiancé, Gene Keithline, Dallas; son, Keith and his wife, Jodie, Shickshinny; grandsons, Nathaniel and his wife, Caitlin; Auston; and Dylan; brother, John Stair and his wife, Wendy, Florida; and nieces and nephews.
