John "Jack" Duda Jr., 82, of Larksville, passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2021.
John was born in Kingston to the late John and Mary Morris Duda. He graduated from Larksville High School in 1956. There, he met his sweetheart, and later, wife, Marilyn Valent Duda.
After serving in the U.S. Army, John returned to his family's business, the Glen Bottling Co. and Glen Carbonic Co. He began his career there at 10 years old and continued until COVID-19 came last year. He never officially retired, but remained a co-owner until today.
John was a member and altar server at St. John the Baptist Church, Larksville. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion, Larksville.
John was preceded in death by his son, John; sister, Betty Estock; and brother, Michael Duda.
In addition to his wife, he leaves behind his children, Thomas and wife, Diane; David and wife, Kathleen; Joseph and wife, Karen; and Bethanne; daughter-in-law, Susan; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
John's funeral will be announced at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mamary-Durkin Funeral & Cremation Services, 59 Parrish St., Wilkes-Barre.
