John S. "Buddy" Medvec Jr., 67, of Harding, passed away unexpectedly Monday, Jan. 3, 2022, at his home.
Born in Kingston, Jan. 27, 1954, John was the son of the late John Sr. and Louise Melora Medvec.
John was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Church, Carverton, and was a graduate of West Side Tech.
He was employed as a delivery driver for many years by Modern Gas Sales Inc.
John had a strong work ethic throughout his life. He greatly enjoyed landscaping and home improvement projects.
In his free time, he loved going to the casino as well as playing the lottery.
Most of all, John loved animals and he especially loved caring for his numerous cats.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Charmayne A. Harashinski Medvec; brother, Daniel Medvec; and his sister, Louise Segarra.
Surviving are his son, Charles Osenkarski III and his wife, Angela, Plains Twp.; daughters, Ginger Flore, California; and Adria Long and her husband, Brian, New Jersey; his sisters, Janet Brooks and her husband, Braden, New York; and Linda Kugler, and her husband, John, New York; his brother, Larry Medvec, Wyoming; grandchildren, Skylar, Charlie and Jenna; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Bednarski Funeral Home, 168 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.
Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton.
Family and friends are invited to attend John's viewing which will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and again from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the SPCA, 524 E. Main St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702.
