John Fitzgerald Reilly passed away peacefully at home Friday, Feb. 4, 2022.
He is survived by his daughter, Danielle Marie Reilly. He is also survived by siblings, Mary Kay, Frank, Dawn (Joe), Lisa (John) and Danielle. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Marie Reilly; niece, Jessica; and great-nephew, Mason; who we know welcomed him to heaven.
John was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, Petty Officer 3rd Class, where he earned numerous medals for good conduct and weapons excellence during his active duty and four years of naval reserves.
He fulfilled his oath to his country, his family and his flag, and remained a lifelong supporter of all veteran causes with the Wounded Warrior Project being nearest to his heart.
John was an avid sportsman who enjoyed golf, fishing and football. He loved the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame and the Miami Dolphins most of all.
He should be remembered most of all for being a passionate family man. He loved his daughter and siblings unconditionally and fiercely. He was a father, brother, son, uncle and a friend to all who were lucky enough to know him. There is no doubt that with his last breath he put a proud wave in Old Glory.
A service will be held at E Blake Collins Funeral Home, 159 George Ave., Wilkes-Barre from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, where family and friends can pay their respects.
In lieu of flowers, John would want gifts to go to the Wounded Warrior Project in his name.

Knew John from working at Offset Paperback. We would sometimes hang out after work and I would see him at the casino. He will be missed.
