Keith Earl Evans, 68, of Forty Fort, passed away Friday, Dec. 18, 2020, at his home, after a long four-year battle with lung cancer. He fought the fight from start to finish with amazing strength, courage and dignity.
Keith was born in Luzerne, the son of the late, Warren and Marion Evans.
Keith was a resident of Forty Fort for over 30 years. He was employed as a truck driver by APA for 30 years, then as a bus driver by LCTA for 10 years. He was a member of Luzerne United Methodist Church, and Kingston Lodge 395, F&AM.
Family was everything to Keith. He was an amazing husband, father, step father, son, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend. He was loved by many and those who knew him got to enjoy his hysterical very dry sense of humor. He enjoyed golf, bowling, billiards, and was an avid hunter. Most of all he loved to travel. Keith and Diane got to enjoy many amazing Caribbean Island vacations and lots of cruises.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marsha Jean Evans.
Keith is survived by his wife/partner of 17 years, Diane Schick Evans, daughters, Stacey Evans and her fiancé, Rob Lewis, Shavertown; Kerri Evans, Larksville; stepdaughter, Lisa Huff, Forty Fort; stepson, Eric Huff, Luzerne; grandchildren, Chase Shimko, Aidan Shimko and Brinley Lewis; brother, Bruce Evans and his wife, Janet, Luzerne; sister, Holly Menta and her husband, John, Swoyersville; as well as, many nieces and nephews.
Due to the pandemic a private funeral service will be held in United Methodist Church, Luzerne, with his pastor, the Rev. Debbie Rose, officiating. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Hugh B. Hughes & Son Inc. Funeral Home, Forty Fort.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.

I’m so sorry I never got to know Keith very well personally as I relocated to Florida in 2006. However I feel as if I did know him and what a wonderful man he was through my best friend - his wife Diane. I know he will be greatly missed by all who loved him. Our deepest sympathies and condolences for the entire family and all his friends. Love Audrey and Dave.

The first time I took an LCTA bus (I was in my 50's) and I was nervous about where the toll went. The bus operator said "Sorry ma'am but you have to be taller than the toll box to ride by yourself!" I looked up and realized it was Keith. I had a good laugh with him and promised to grow taller when I could. Rest in well deserved peace Kwith.I am saddened that he has left us far too soon. Hugs to the Evans family. ❤
