Dr. Lindsay Ann Heck, 25, was called into the arms of the Lord unexpectedly Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2022.
She was the daughter of Carl Heck, West Wyoming, and Sherry Drungell, Tunkhannock.
Lindsay was the light of everyone's life; her smile lit up a room and her laughter was contagious. She was a loyal friend and trusted confidante to everyone she loved. Lindsay loved fiercely and lived her life always putting others before herself.
She was the valedictorian of her Class of 2016 at Tunkhannock Area School District. She then received a Doctorate of Pharmacy degree from the University of Pittsburgh in May of 2022, where she graduated summa cum laude. She was a fellow at the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy in the Community Pharmacy Practice Development and Research Fellowship. She loved teaching students, doing research, running multiple vaccine clinics and sharing her passion and knowledge with others.
Lindsay is survived by her mother and stepfather, Sherry and Jack Drungell, Tunkhannock; father, Carl Heck, West Wyoming; sister, Carly Heck (fiancé, Matthew Snyder), Pittsburgh; brother, Robert Tsikalas II, Tunkhannock; grandmothers, Joyce DeAngelo (Nonni), Exeter; and Marion Heck (Grammy), West Wyoming; godfather and uncle, Bill DeAngelo, Exeter; godmother and aunt, Maria Heck, West Pittston; stepsiblings, Mackenzie Drungell, Morgan Drungell and Jackson Drungell; multiple cousins, aunts, uncles and her beloved cat, Chloe.
She has joined her Nonno, Grandpa Heck and Gary in heaven.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held in St. Barbara's Parish in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 224 Memorial St., Exeter, with the Rev. Paul McDonnell, O.S.J., as celebrant. Interment was in St. John the Baptist Slovak Cemetery, Schooley Street, Exeter. A visitation was held at Gubbiotti Funeral Home LLC, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Lindsay's name to the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association Foundation, PPA Educational Foundation, 508 N. Came across this very sad holiday story. Dr. Heck was a shining star at the top of her game.
My greatest wish is for her family and fiance to find peace with gratitude that they had her in their lives.
