Louis M. Jakubczyk, 73, of Plains Twp., passed away Friday, April 29, 2022, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Twp. He was born in Swoyersville, June 25, 1948, and was the son of the late Louis and Sophie Antos Jakubczyk.
Louis was a member of St. Peter and Paul Parish Parish, Plains Twp. He was a graduate of Swoyersville High School, Class of 1966. Louis then joined the U.S. Army Reserve and served with Troop C. 9th Cavalry of Wilkes-Barre from 1967-1973. Louis worked as a swimming pool installer for Prestige Pool and retired from Olympic Pools, Exeter, with over 30 years of employment.
Louis enjoyed spending time with his loving wife of 45 years, Marion Dudek Jakubczyk, they enjoyed going out for dinner, coffee and rides with his wife and also enjoyed camping with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, Louis is preceded in death by his wife, Marion, who died Jan. 3, 2022; his brother, Raymond; sister-in-law, Kathleen Jakubczyk; and brother–in–law, John P. Dudek.
He is survived by his brother, Richard Jakubczyk, Swoyersville; sister-in-law, Diane and her husband, Tommy Molitoris, Duryea; sister-in-law, Theresa Dudek; and many nieces and nephews.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Ss. Peter and Paul Parish Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains Twp., with the Rev. John C. Lambert officiating. Interment will be held in Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Avoca.
