Mabel A. Rule Fink, 97, longtime Shickshinny resident, died Saturday afternoon, Dec. 12, 2020, at theBonham Nursing Center.

Born Jan. 25, 1923, in Shickshinny, she was a daughter of the late Richard and Lillie MaeNoss Rule. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert B. Fink, on April 13, 1999.

Mrs. Fink was a 1942 graduate of the former Garrison High School in Shickshinny. She had been employed by Consolidated Cigar Corporation in Berwick for many years and prior to that by the Berwick AC&F.

She was an active member of United Presbyterian Church of Shickshinny where she served as a trustee. She was also a member of the Bloomingdale Quilters Club and was a former member of the Order of Eastern Star.

Her hobbies included quilting, gardening and tending her flowers. She especially enjoyed attending her children and grandchildren's events.

Along with her parents and her husband, Albert, she was preceded in death by the following siblings, Marie Zofcin, Mildred C. Smith, Lillie Sorber, Lorraine Harter, Robert Rule, Albert Rule and Richard Rule.

Surviving are her two children, A. Sherman Fink and his wife, Kathleen (Yudiski), Shickshinny; and Pamela J. Zaremba and her husband, Thomas, Hunlock Creek; five grandchildren, Christina, Deanna and Natalie Fink; Thomas John "TJ" Zaremba, Jr. and Cassandra Garber; her four great-grandchildren, Lane and John Zaremba, Benjamin and Charleigh Garber. Also surviving are a sister, Elizabeth Bankes; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family due to the Coronoavirus pandemic. Burial will be in Sorber Cemetery at Reyburn. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date when conditions are safe.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Hunlock Creek United Methodist Church or the United Presbyterian Church of Shickshinny.

Mabel was a true dear friend to me who cared about & loved dearly ! She never had a mean word to say about anybody & was always more than willing to help anybody she could ! m truly going to miss seeing & hanging out with her even though wasnt able to go see her while she was in Bonhams due to the covid19 epidemic ! She is now at peace & gone home to be with Jesus her husbond Albert & other relatives & friends who have gone before her ! The world is truly alot less nice a place to live in without her here but know shes in a far better place ! will always have a special place in my heart for you Mabel Fink as u were truly a wonderful beautiful human being & friend to many
