Mark D. Maczuga

Mark Daniel Maczuga, 43, of Briggsville concluded his journey in this life Thursday afternoon at his home.

Mark was born in Dover, N.J., on Dec. 30, 1964, a son of Andrew and Linda Yeager Maczuga of rural Shickshinny.

He graduated from Berwick High School, Class of 1982, and was employed by Weis Markets for 20 years. He was presently employed as a driver by Shawnee RediMix for four years.

He was a member of Faith United Evangelical Lutheran Church, Nescopeck. He was a wrestling coach, as well as for his sons. He enjoyed fishing and hunting especially with his Dad. He was a Boy Scout who earned his Life Scout Award.

He will be remembered by, in addition to his parents, his wife, the former Jennifer Shaffer, to whom he was married for 14 years this May; four sons, Shawn Daniel Maczuga, at home, and his fiancee, Jesstine, Berwick; Aaron Maczuga, Catawissa; Nathan and Matthew Maczuga, both at home; two brothers, Andrew Maczuga Jr. and his wife, Chris, Wapwallopen; Adam Maczuga and his wife, Jeannie, Unityville; maternal grandmother, Marie Yeager, rural Shickshinny; aunts, uncles, cousins and their families.

Mark was very devoted to all his family and he will "forever be in their hearts."

Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. from Faith United Evangelical Lutheran Church, East Third and Dewey streets, Nescopeck, with the Rev. Michael J. Scholtes, his pastor, presiding. He will be laid to rest in Mount Zion Cemetery, Briggsville. Friends may call Sunday, 5 to 7 p.m., at Heller Funeral Home, Nescopeck, or at the church Monday, 10 to 11 a.m.
