Mary Petroziello Obituary

Mary Theresa Petroziello, 84, of Raspberry Road, Duryea, passed away Thursday afternoon, March 18, 2010, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born in Pittston, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Catherine Olenik Estock Sr. She was a graduate of Pittston High School, Class of 1942, and graduated as an executive secretary from Scranton Business College.

She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Pittston. She resided in Pittston for most of her life, prior to moving to Duryea seven years ago.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl (Hoodsie) Petroziello, on Aug. 14, 1980; three brothers, infant Joseph, David and Andrew Jr.; daughter-in-law, Deborah Gilroy Petroziello.

Surviving are her daughter, Mary Catherine Petroziello, with whom she resided; son, Brian Petroziello and his wife, Karan, Clayton, Ohio; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Jerome Estock, Pittston; sister, Catherine Biago and her husband, Anthony, Pequannock, N.J.; sister, Elizabeth Sincavage and her husband, Joseph, Sowyersville; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. from Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main St., Duryea, with the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church, Pittston. The Rev. James P. Dougher will officiate. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. Friends may call Sunday, 5 to 8 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Evangelist Church, 35 William St., Pittston, PA 18640.
