Marylin Duda, 82, of Larksville, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2023, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Twp.
Marilyn was born in Orange, N.J., to the late Joseph and Elizabeth Gregory Valent.
The family then moved to Larksville where Marilyn attended and graduated from Larksville High School in 1956. There, she met her sweetheart and later, husband, John B. Duda.
Marilyn worked at Boscov's Department Store until her retirement. She was an avid reader, and after finishing books, she would pass them on to her friends. She was also known for her needlepoint bibs and blankets for any new additions to her family.
Marilyn was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Larksville.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, John; and son, John.
She leaves behind her children, Thomas and wife, Diane; David and wife, Kathleen; Joseph and wife, Karen; and Bethanne; daughter-in-law, Susan; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in St. John's the Baptist Church, Larksville. Friends may call from 10:30 to service time.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Compassionate Care Hospice or the National Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
Arrangements are by Mamary-Durkin Funeral & Cremation Services, 59 Parrish St., Wilkes-Barre.

Prayers and sympathy for Marilyn's family. She was a sweet lady and a joy to work with. Marlyn will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Rest in peace my friend.
