Melvin Royer Obituary
Born Feb. 24, 1955, in Nanticoke, he was a son of Doris Wright Royer of Hunlock Creek and the late Richard Royer Sr.
Melvin was employed as an auto mechanic and for the past 33 years at Coccia Ford, Wilkes-Barre.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Royer Jr.
He is survived by his wife, the former, Cheryl Faux, with whom he shared 44 years of marriage; son, Melvin Royer Jr. and wife, Doreen, Larksville; daughter, Rebecca Derhammer and husband, Gene, Pikes Creek; daughter, Summer Royer and son, Sean Royer, both at home; grandchildren, Josh Davenport, Ben Royer, Jessica Derhammer, LeeAnn Royer and Ian and Aidan Morgans; sisters, Bonnie Wilson, Shickshinny; Terri Mundy, Danville; and Tracie Rinehimer and husband, Bill, Shavertown; a brother, Joseph Royer and husband, Derek, Trucksville; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday from Clarke Piatt Funeral Home Inc., 6 Sunset Lake Road, Hunlock Creek, with the Rev. Gerard DeSanto, chaplain with Celtic Hospice, officiating.
Friends may call from 2 p.m. until the time of the service Sunday.
